This project transforms Building 124 on Cockatoo Island into a co-living and co-working space for three creative individuals: a visual artist, a composer, and a musician/producer. The aim was to support both creative work and daily life within a two-level adaptive reuse design.

This concept is inspired by Japanese design with a biophilic focus, embracing natural elements like timber and plants to create a seamless connection between nature and living spaces. The tree in the centre, symbolising growth and balance becomes the heart and the power source of the building, where it is surrounded by communal areas that foster creativity and tranquility. The integration of natural light, plants, and an open courtyard creates an airy, breathable and calming environment.
